10-Minute Phone Consultation with Agent Karen Grencik
Agent Karen Grencik of Red Fox Literary is offering the following:
- She will provide a 10-minute phone consultation (which may go longer, depending) in which you can ask any questions about children’s publishing and literature.
Note: Karen does not represent illustrators, and so this call will likely work best for writers.
Karen Grencik became a literary agent because of a man she admired. She wanted the world to know his story. In 2001 she accomplished her goal when Double Luck, Memoirs of a Chinese Orphan, written by Lu Chi Fa with Becky White, was published by Holiday House. Double Luck received many awards, and it is still in print in hardcover to this day. Karen’s next sale, George Hogglesberry, Grade School Alien, written by Sarah Wilson, was acquired by a brand-new editor, Abigail Samoun, at Tricycle Press. George Hogglesberry went on to win the coveted Golden Kite Award for Best Picture Book Text in 2003. Many other award-winning titles followed. In February 2011, Karen and Abigail joined forces to open Red Fox Literary, LLC, a boutique agency that specializes in children's books for all ages. Karen, Abi and Red Fox Literary regularly make the Top 10 Children’s Book Agents and Agencies lists each year.

How to Claim Your Item
- WNDB will declare the winner in the comments section on the item page. We will also contact the winner of this auction item via the email you provided.
- The winner will have 72 hours to claim their item by responding to the email.
- If the winner does not claim their item within the 72-hour timeframe, we will default to the runner-up from the bidding comments.
- In that same 72-hour timeframe, the winner must make their donation in the winning amount of their bid to WNDB. You can donate on our Donation page.
- Please forward your receipt or a screenshot to WNDB.
- If the winner does not forward their receipt to us within the 72-hour timeframe, we will default to the runner-up from the bidding comments.
- If you need to send a check, please let us know and we will work with you.
- Once the donation has been verified, WNDB will put you in touch with the agent or editor who donated your item.
